Dubai Sports Council to arrange a workshop, Tuesday 4th Sept. 2018 at 11:00 am. at Sofitel Hotel in Sheikh Zayed Road, to unveil technical & organizational rules of the 6th “Sheikha Hind Women's Sports Tournament", which is organized by the Woman's Sports Committee of DSC as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of DSC, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al-Maktoum, the Wife of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The 6th Edition of the Tournament is scheduled from 16th to 30th Oct. 2018.
The Woman & Sport Committee has invited coordinators of sports activities in governmental & semi-governmental corporations and private sectors to attend the workshop, during which respective bodies will announce the opening of the registration door from 4th Sept. to 4th Oct. Full explanation will be made for technical & organizational rules of each competition of the 6th edition of the Tournament. Registration provisions & system of the competition will also be stated in details.
Participants in the workshop will catch the opportunity to raise enquires and discuss all matters related to registration & rules of each competition.
The workshop will be attended by members of the Organizing Committee and representatives of the associations of respective sports games in order to answer enquiries and explain any necessary information. The workshop will also declare the competitions program and categories, decided to join each of the individual & team competitions.
“Sheikha Hind Women's Sports Tournament" is one of the most eminent events in the agenda of DSC, which gives special consideration to the women's sports. In this regard, DSC has formed the Woman & Sport Committee and a woman sports section.
The Woman Sports Committee of DSC arranges “Sheikha Hind Woman's Sports Tournament" to support women sport in Dubai / popularize the culture of woman sports' practices as a basic factor to help woman enjoys healthy life and to enable her to deal with burdens of life / boost social ties among female employees of various governmental corporations / create entertaining environment among female employees / break the daily routine of work / encourage ladies to join fair competitions / attract qualified ladies to assume leading sports designations.
It is worth-mentioning that participants in the 5th edition of the Tournament contested tough competitions in ten individual & team sports games; these were: basketball, volleyball, handball, swimming, cycling, road race, chess, badminton & bowling, besides tennis competition which was introduced recently into the list of the various competitions of the Tournament.
The last edition of the Tournament was held with participation of 685 female players from 32 governmental, semi-governmental & private entities.
