​​​​​DSC Reviews Means of Sports Cooperation with India

H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, received H.E. Vipul, the Consul General of India to UAE, to review means of sports cooperation between the two parties, top of which is the organizing of the International Day of Yoga, scheduled on 21st June 2018 with participation of more than 10 thousand persons.


The meeting was held in the presence of H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, the Assistant Secretary General of DSC, and Members of the Organizing Committee of the 4th edition of the International Day of Yoga.


The meeting dealt with the agenda of common sports & social events, taking place in Dubai throughout the year, particularly after the successful cooperation between DSC and the Indian Consulate to provide useful sports events for the community.   


H.E. Saeed Hareb stated: "We are proud as the Emirate of the Dubai is the first city all over the world to celebrate the International Day of Yoga in 2015.We are pleased to see the development of the this event since that date and how Dubai has become the greatest city regarding the participation in the Yoga event. In 2016, the International Day of Yoga, was held in the presence of the famous Indian Yoga Teacher, Baba Ramdev with participation of more than 2500 persons. The Yoga event, took place in Dubai last year, was held with massive participation of individuals of more than 100 nationalities, various ages & different Yoga talents".


H.E. Saeed Hareb added: "Our annual agenda is full several events & activities, organized throughout the year. We are keen to organize various kinds of activities in order to enable all classes in society to enjoy happy & positive life. Our sports events target more than 200 nationalities residing in Dubai. The International Day f Yoga is an exciting sport of wide popularity among Indian community. We are keen to provide all means of support to bring joy for Indian community, based on our vision to create healthy & happy society". 


H.E. Vipul remarked: "We have arranged several great events in Dubai to celebrate this occasion during the last three years. Dubai is the first city to support us in this particular field. We work in collaboration with DSC to ensure organizing of successful huge festival every year".


He added: "This year again we are looking forward to organize the 4th edition of the International Day of Yoga. We are currently putting final touches for the organizing of the event. I am sure that it will be a distinctive world event. We have several plans to be announced in the appropriate time".​
