Dubai Sports Council's Board convened its 32nd meeting, Monday 9th July 2018 at the Council's premises.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mattar Al-Tayer, the Deputy Chairman of DSC, in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC and the Board's members; these are: Mr. Ali Bu Jusaim, Mr. Mohammed Al-Kamali, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shaafar, Mr. Yousuf Al-Redha, Mr. Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, Mr. Salah Amin, Ms. Moaza Al-Marri, Ms. Maryam Al-Hammadi, Ms. Laila Suhail & Mr. Anas Bu Khash.
The meeting was also attended by H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma, the Assistant Secretary General of DSC / Mr. Saleh Al-Marzouqi, Director of Corporate Support Dept.
DSC's Board expressed that the wise leadership supports the practice of sport and provides all necessary measures to encourage the various classes of community exercise sport, targeting to attract & organize top sports competitions in order to boost the UAE status on the world sports map and to make all individuals aware of the importance of the exercise of sport as lifestyle, so that they may enjoy healthy life and acquire positive energy.
H.E. Mattar Al-Tayer confirmed that the distinctive sports & tourist facilities, well–based infrastructural transportation & communication services and competent organizational staff of accumulative experiences are all considered as eminent factors that help DSC to implement its distinguished programs & plans; among which is the organizing of further competitive social sports events & championships, targeting corporations & teams and other various classes in society.
The meeting reviewed a report on the organizing of a world sports tournament for companies; to be the first of its kind with respect to its programs & number of participants. In this regard, DSC collaborate with a specialized company to launch & organize this competition in such distinctive level that copes with the unique status of Dubai.
The meeting dealt with referees' reports on the 1st version of "Hamdan Bin Mohammed Order of Merit for Sports Education School", launched this year as part of the recommendations of the Sports Innovation Conference, which was organized by DSC and ratified by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of DSC.
DSC's Board surveyed the Woman & Sport Committee's report, comprising all achievements attained during the first half of this year in addition to other events to be arranged during the second half of the year; top of which is "Sheikha Hind Women's Sports Tournament"; the most eminent women's sports event, targeting in particular female employees in governmental & private entities. It is to be mentioned that the number of women, who participate in the various social & sports events, have notably increased during the last period.
Respective bodies are instructed to provide all factors of success to organize remarkable events & increase the number of females who exercise sport. Women & men collaborate with each other to build & develop the community and encourage the upcoming generations to practice sport and enjoy happy & healthy life.
The meeting reviewed reports of internal works; part of which is the relation with clubs & football companies, affiliated under DSC's umbrella / report on the Electronic Performance Management System in DSC, designed & implemented by respective committee from DSC to improve performance & cope with development in all fields of life.
H.E. Mattar Al-Tayer praised the remarkable efforts of DSC's working committees, which endeavor to innovate programs & new policies. He emphasized DSC's keenness to trace the track of success and attain further achievements.
The meeting reviewed several other matters, scheduled on the agenda, and took appropriate decisions with regard to the same.
