Dubai comprises six football clubs, they are: Al Nasr, Al Shabab, Al Ahli, Al Wasl, Dubai and Hatta, in addition to 3 specialized clubs: Dubai International Marine Club, Dubai Chess Club, and Dubai Club for the Disabled. It also includes Hamdan Sports Complex, an architectural masterpiece which features a modern swimming pool. The Complex was designed to the world’s best standards and capable of hosting various tournaments with a capacity of 15,000 spectators. It also includes Dubai Sports City and Meydan, the largest horse based & competitive economy, safe community, fair & impartial justice, advanced courts system, sustainable environment and integrated infrastructure of roads, bridges and tunnels, in addition to providing all types of transit modes conforming to the highest specifications. Plans are set to upgrade the public sector to become the most innovative sector in order to ensure the smart government, which will enable all Dubai residents including various nationalities to process their public transactions through a smartphones or tablet PCs.

Dubai was founded in 1833 when some 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, led by Al Maktoum Family, settled at the Creek area. At that time the Creek was the natural port of the region, which later led to the emergence of Dubai as a center for fishing, pearling and trading. With the beginning of the 20th century, Dubai became a popular port, with Deira forming the largest market on the coastal area. The total number of Dubai’s population was about 20,000 people, 25% of them were residents.
